Army of the Dead release date: Trailer, cast and latest news for Zack Snyder's zombie blockbuster
Netflix is the exclusive home of the film in the UK.
It's a great time to be a Zack Snyder fan as, just two months on from his long-awaited DC Comics blockbuster Justice League, the director is back with another action-packed offering.
Army of the Dead sees Snyder return to the genre that made him famous, putting another exciting fresh spin on zombies just as he did with 2004's Dawn of the Dead remake.
This time, he pitches a nightmarish future where certain zombies have evolved into so-called 'alphas', with greater agility and intellectual capabilities than your standard member of the undead.
Netflix has high hopes for the movie, with two Army of the Dead spin-offs already in the works, one of which sees the star-studded Army of the Dead cast reprising their roles.

Army of the Dead cast: Who's in Zack Snyder's new movie?
The Army of the Dead cast is comprised of a diverse range of talent, led by Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista as mercenary Scott Ward, who is tasked with leading a crew into Las Vegas and retrieving a cash fortune.
His team consists of Ella Purnell (Belgravia) as strong-willed daughter Kate Ward, Omari Hardwick (Power) as buzzsaw wielding soldier Vanderohe, Ana de la Reguera (Goliath) as kind-hearted mechanic Maria Cruz, and Matthias Schweighöfer as eccentric safecracker Ludwig Dieter.

Comedian and Star Trek: Discovery actor Tig Notaro replaced Chris D'Elia after filming had been completed, with Notaro's scenes being shot entirely solo against a green screen and digitally edited-in later. Impressively, the results are pretty seamless.
Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine) plays the gang's wealthy employer, casino owner Bly Tanaka, while Nora Arnezeder (Riviera) Theo Rossi (Luke Cage), Garret Dillahunt (Fear The Walking Dead), Raúl Castillo (Atypical) and Samantha Win (Arrow) round out the supporting cast.
What is Army of the Dead about?
Army of the Dead is set several years after a zombie apocalypse that has left Las Vegas in ruins.
With the city walled off from the rest of the world, casino boss Bly Tanaka (Hiroyuki Sanada) hires war hero Scott Ward (Dave Bautista) to break into the infested quarantine zone and retrieve $200 million sitting in a vault beneath the strip.
If the risk of getting bitten wasn't high enough, the crew will also have to race against the clock to be well clear of Vegas before the city is nuked by the US government in a mere 32 hours.
Ward assembles a ragtag team of experts for the heist, including ace mechanic Maria Cruz (Ana de la Reguera), hardened soldier Vanderohe (Omari Hardwick), cynical pilot Marianne Peters (Tig Notaro), zombie-killing influencer Mikey Guzman (Raúl Castillo), and a brilliant German safecracker named Dieter (Matthias Schweighöfer).
While there's plenty of action and spooky moments, the film also features a more emotionally-driven subplot surrounding Scott and his estranged daughter, Kate (Ella Purnell), whose relationship was torn apart by traumatic events.
